Macbook pro takes extra time to boot up?

I have a mid 2010 15 inch macbook pro. I was working in my office one day and and a shelf fell on it. Luckily there was no external damage, but it does however take extra time to boot up. Before I would hit the power button and the screen would come on. Now I hit the power button and it take about 5+ seconds to see the screen. Anyone have any suggestions on what it could be. I am an advance computer user and want to leave the apple store as last resort. Thanks for the input.
